Hosting Options

Whilst web-works does not currently provide web hosting themselves, we do have a couple of preferred webhosts (No, we do not receive any backhanders for this) from whom we find we receive excellent service and our clients are well looked after.hosting,seo,web-works

Remember, building a site is only part of the process. First you have to buy a domain name then you need to organise a host (where the site is located). Think of the internet as a library, with each book being a website. Your domain is the title on the cover of the book. Your Host is the shelf that the book sits on. (Different shelves fit and hold different books.) In your library, you have to rent space on your shelf. That’s hosting.

We also offer website hosting advice for free to clients that have their sites built by web-works, and at a minimal fee to clients that just need the advice. There are so many possibilities out there and so many cowboys just waiting to take your money, without providing you with the basics of service.

Why should you use this service when you could simply Google the answer? Well the solution is not in a google result, its in the level of performance and service that each host provides and that is where our knowledge and experience comes in.

We know this stuff.

It is our business to place the right website with the right host. Each host is different, just like each television channel, courier company or print company is different to the next.

Ask us. Its our business.

How Do we Choose The Best Provider?

It’s essential that you choose a reliable web hosting company so that you know that your website remains safe and accessible all year round. If you are experiencing problems with your existing hosting provider or have no idea what needs or features to consider, get in touch with us here >>>>>

  • Options available – There are a wide range of options available such as; Shared, VPS (Virtual Private Server), Dedicated and Managed Web hosting. You can go away and google them or you can ask us what is best for your needs. Its our business to get this right.
  • A+ Customer Service is a must – The internet never sleeps. Therefore your hosting provider must be able to fix things when they go wrong (and EVERY website experiences crises occasionally, even the really big expensive ones).  All hosting providers claim they offer 24-7 support, but this doesn’t guarantee that you will receive quick efficient service immediately, especially right when you need it. This is where web-works comes in. We provide the support and the service and the link between the host that we choose for you, so that if something goes wrong, we get on their case and get it fixed for you.
  • We only choose providers that do what they say – The hosting provider should ensure maximum uptime. While no web host can guarantee 100 percent uptime, it should offer at least 99 percent uptime (on average).

In the last 18 months we have had only 2 incidents of downtime, for a total of just 10 hours. That’s 99.99924% uptime. THAT is awesome.

  • Money shouldn’t be the only hosting issue – As a wise man once said, you buy $20 dollar helmets for $20 heads. How much do value your site, your business and your internet traffic.  You get what you pay for. Shared web hosting is great if your business expects only a small amount of traffic. Alternately, if you’re in the business of selling LOTS of products or generating a large amount of traffic, then a dedicated or managed hosting provider may be a better choice. It will cost lots more upfront, but technical support is usually provided directly from the hosting provider and often 24/7

Conclusion
There are a lot of web hosting companies out there. It’s crucial to select a hosting provider carefully since your business will be depend on it. Either do your homework or leave it up to the experts: That’s us – web-works.co.nz
