Whilst web-works does not currently provide web hosting themselves, we do have a couple of preferred webhosts (No, we do not receive any backhanders for this) from whom we find we receive excellent service and our clients are well looked after.
Remember, building a site is only part of the process. First you have to buy a domain name then you need to organise a host (where the site is located). Think of the internet as a library, with each book being a website. Your domain is the title on the cover of the book. Your Host is the shelf that the book sits on. (Different shelves fit and hold different books.) In your library, you have to rent space on your shelf. That’s hosting.
We also offer website hosting advice for free to clients that have their sites built by web-works, and at a minimal fee to clients that just need the advice. There are so many possibilities out there and so many cowboys just waiting to take your money, without providing you with the basics of service.

- We only choose providers that do what they say – The hosting provider should ensure maximum uptime. While no web host can guarantee 100 percent uptime, it should offer at least 99 percent uptime (on average).
In the last 18 months we have had only 2 incidents of downtime, for a total of just 10 hours. That’s 99.99924% uptime. THAT is awesome.
- Money shouldn’t be the only hosting issue – As a wise man once said, you buy $20 dollar helmets for $20 heads. How much do value your site, your business and your internet traffic. You get what you pay for. Shared web hosting is great if your business expects only a small amount of traffic.
