Whatever size website you are after, web-works can sort out all of your ideas and needs. We can purposefully design a site around what will work best for you and your business.
Not telling you anything new, but website design is a complicated business. It’s not just a matter of dragging and dropping components (unfortunately).
You can help us design your site by indicating what you want it to look like – before we even consider content. Your design input is essential. If you have no idea of a layout or color scheme design, we are on the back foot already. We can of course come up with some designs of our own and hope that one of them will appeal to you. But the design process works best when you are an active design participant.
All of our websites that we build are purposefully optimised for search engines, at no extra cost. We just want your site to be successful.
A well-designed and well-built website that is optimised as it is being built, will always out-perform a flashy, glitzy site that has not done the basics. Sadly, many businesses think that the look of the site is more important than the content. Of course image is important-but not at the expense of function. website design is about making the website perform.
Our sites are usually built locally, from scratch, or using templates, or via a content management system (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal. WordPress sites provide greater control, security and a wider range of templates to choose from.
We do not build sites using Joomla, as our experiences with that particular platform well under-performed our expectations. It also made our heads hurt.
Our website designs and the templates that we use are optimised by us so that your site is not penalised by search engines.
Obviously, template sites are cheaper, as they involve much less time than building a site from nothing. Prices are dependent on what you want and range from NZ$650 for a simple 5-7 page website, to several thousand for a large e-commerce site. There are a whole range of options in between, depending on your specific needs. A good rule of thumbs is to consider the rate to be about NZ$ 100 per page, with a minimum of NZ$650. Obviously, the more complicated that your site is, the more time it takes and the more it will cost you.
Another cost component is plugins and features. Each costs money. A plain site with no bells and whistles will obviously be cheaper than a site full of fancy galleries and interactive features and functions.
You simply give us some ideas about what you want your site to look like and we will give you a quote. If you decide to proceed, we can then put together some samples for you to look at.
We have designed and built successful websites for the education, tourism and fishing industries as well as specialising in Chatham Island related websites.
